Brenda Rose

Serving in Nicaragua

fc-roseI have been a missionary for the past 9 years in Nicaragua. Prior I was a nurse manager in a hospital in Florida. Because of my background health care issues have been a huge part of the ministry here in Nicaragua.

Email: brose@alfanumeric.com.ni or brendarose.nic@gmail.com

Ministry Focus/Current Projects: My focus here in the mountains of Nicaragua is to improve the health of the Nicaraguan people who are not able to get quality medical care. MV has a clinic called El Buen Samaritano located in the country. The people pay $1.00 to be seen by the doctor and all of their medications are free. We provide care for children and people of all ages. Within the past year we have also started dental care at the clinic. for $1.00 you can get a tooth pulled or filled.

Future plans for the clinic is to start a cancer clinic in the same facility for women. We will start with screening and education.

In Matagalpa MV has a home for children who are severely malnourished. It is called the Re-nutrition Center. Families bring their children who are suffering from malnutrition. The children stay until they are physically and emotionally improved. Once they return to their families there are social workers who monitor the children after. We receive children from all over the north eastern part of Nicaragua.

Future plans: construction of the center at the clinic site in the country. The children will have a place to play outside and we won’t have to worry about the river flooding the center.

Another focus is pastor training. Many of the pastors of the country surrounding Matagalpa have little to no training. Through teams we have been able to provide much needed training for these pastors. There are 2 formal conferences yearly that include pastors from all over Nicaragua. then there are several smaller conferences in local churches.
