Serving in SE Asia

fc-julie-merrinAfter 10 ½ years serving in SE Asia with another organization, Julie joined MV in late 2006. Since August of 2003, she has ministered with young people at a large children’s home where she disciples a small group of the young people who show leadership potential. This discipleship involves both spiritual nurturing as well as active service.  These young people in turn, work with her to serve the other children in the home in a number of ways such as being the student leaders of several handcraft projects, and a computer lab.  This group is now working toward learning how to prepare and lead Bible studies themselves, first within the group itself with the ultimate goal of leading studies with the larger population in the home and then as adults in their various churches.  A number of MV teams have ministered in this children’s home and Julie has begun serving as FC for these teams. Julie has an adopted daughter named Rachel (10/04/2005) who loves all her big brothers and sisters at the children’s home.
