Will you be part of the MV300?

For many of you reading this, these are difficult times. If I were sitting in your kitchen over a cup of coffee, I would want to minister to you and tell you that from God’s perspective, these times can deepen our personal faith and dependence on Him. God is sovereign, God is in control, and this storm is helping us as a ministry to focus on our calling to fulfill the Great Commission of winning the world to Christ, and we count our blessings in having such a loyal donor base. This week I received a letter from Pastor Rob Duford of Orlando North Community Church. Below is a portion of the letter:

Dear Missionary Ventures,
Over the years Missionary Ventures has meant the world to my family and me. You have opened my eyes to the Nations and what Jesus sees for those who are so easily forgotten. We understand the challenges you are facing right now with the economy in recession and the transition in leadership. We also understand raising administrative funds is not the easiest thing to do. Therefore, we would like to begin contributing $200 a month to the administrative cost of your ministry. This is a small token, considering all you have meant to us. Please know that you have a church here in your backyard that loves you, believes in the cause you are pursuing, and is continually praying for you. I do believe with all my heart that the most effective years of ministry of MVI are still to come.

Let me be crystal clear: Missionary Ventures is continuing to reach the world for Jesus Christ. We have grown from a mission taking short-term trips from Florida to Guatemala into a world-wide mission with seven international offices and over 80 missionaries on the field. This May, we will have 16 new missionaries sent out all over the world from the Orlando office. We are expecting the other offices to be sending out hundreds of missionaries in the future. Yet, at the same time we continue to channel 100% of the missionaries’ support to them, and we use only 9% of our total revenue for administration and fundraising.

What would you do during these difficult times? We have prayed, prayed, fasted, and prayed some more. Through our prayers, we believe God is calling us to raise up an army of valiant partners, committed to supporting this ministry monthly in finances and prayer. In Judges chapter seven, Gideon (a member of the weakest tribe of Judah) had too many volunteers. To make sure God would get all the glory, God led Gideon in an exercise to choose 300 committed leaders with a strategy to bring victory and to make sure that all their dependence would be on God and not man.

As a ministry, we have streamlined and made cuts to help ride out this financially stressful time, but we need 300 monthly supporters who will give $50 to $100 a month to support this work. Like Gideon, we realize that a few (300) committed leaders can be the channel for sending God’s love to a hurting world. We also realize God could use someone or something else to provide for His work, yet if He is choosing you, your prayers and partnership are needed now more than ever. Will you prayerfully consider becoming a MV300 partner? If you cannot support us monthly at this time, please pray with us about this army of valiant partners.
If you join this special group, you will receive a refrigerator magnet to use as a reminder to pray for Missionary Ventures and a monthly letter of encouragement highlighting how your partnership is making a difference in the lives of others.
