mv300 Partner Letter January 2012

Dear Friend of Missionary Ventures,

Here we are at the beginning of a brand new year!

I just finished putting away the Christmas decorations and cleaning out the garage.  While doing these, I’ve been reflecting on how faithful God has been to this ministry over the years.  At Missionary Ventures, we walk by faith every day.

Have you ever been at a place in your life where you don’t know what to say, what to do, where to turn, or even how to pray? I usually don’t like to admit it when that happens.

However, what do you tell a missionary wife whose husband and two children were killed driving to dedicate a Bible school? What do you tell a devoted husband whose forty-years-young wife has a headache for three days and then suddenly dies on the field? What do you tell a missionary who has been on the field bearing much fruit and, because of the health of his young children, has to come home?  After the first day of his new job, he says he’s already tired of chasing the almighty dollar, and there has to be more to life than just making a living.

In these uncertain days, I know many of you are living under intense pressure and are also facing impossible situations. However, here’s the good news–whatever situations we face this coming year, we don’t have to trust in our selves, but in God who raised Jesus from the dead. The resurrection is our proof of His faithfulness and over-coming power. This is the good news! This is the difference between despair and hope.

And that difference is why, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your support of Missionary Ventures.  It is only with your continued friendship and sacrificial giving that we can show hurting people the Savior who makes the real difference between despair and hope.

Happy New Year!
