mv300 Partner Letter July 2010

Dear mv300 Partner,

Jesus said, “And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water because they are my followers, assuredly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.” Matthew 10:42

I was living in Africa, far away from home, trusting God for open doors to spread the Gospel, and always thirsty.  As I hiked up the mountain to preach in the remote village of Calabuta, a toothless older woman, walking the opposite way, asked for a sip from my water bottle.  It was a small request.  But I said, “No,” and kept walking.

I didn’t think much of it at the time. Then, later that night, while I was reading my Bible, the Lord pierced my heart, “. . . only a cup of water because they are my followers. . . he shall by no means lose his reward.” I lost my reward that day.

Although that was many years ago, to this day, no matter where I am, it’s impossible for me to not share my water when asked.  Really, it’s His water.

In this super-sized culture, it’s hard to believe that simply a cup of cold water makes a difference in Jesus’ eyes. To the little girl, in the picture, it’s a gift given from Jesus. When we give water, our prayers, or finances in His name, it is a holy gift given to Jesus.

It takes each of us doing our part for the Kingdom of God to be advanced around the world. You are an important part of that advancement. For your generous support of this ministry, I appreciate you. Please continue to pray for Missionary Ventures as we minister around the world.

Thank you for your holy gift given to Jesus this month.
