A Short-Term Mission Trip Encourages

Article submitted by Gary Wadding, MVI Staff A short-term mission trip is an adventure which will have lasting benefits in more ways than you might think at first. Of course the major aim of the trip is to help the people living in that foreign country. Help might mean different things, such as: helping to [...]

Nicaragua Vocational School Update

Nicaragua Vocational School Update

Article submitted by Mike & Lauren Deibert, Field Coordinators in Nicaragua Our first official school year in the new vocational building has come to a very fulfilling end!  I (Mike) can’t believe it; over 80 students were trained and ministered to in electricity, auto mechanics, welding, and blacksmithing. mv300

On behalf of the thousands of impoverished children, pastors, Bible schools, clinics, hospital, missionaries and so many others we want to thank you for your prayers, love and support of this ministry. It really does take each of us doing our part for the Kingdom of God to be advanced around the world. So many have not heard nor experienced the love and message of Christ. That’s why your partnership at this time is so important to us.  No matter what the state of the economy has been our partners have continued to give to what truly matters to them.  I am asking you to pray about joining a special group of friends and partners that we are calling mv300.

Will you pray about being part of  mv300?

We have grown from a mission taking short-term trips from Florida to Guatemala into a world-wide mission with seven international offices and over 100 missionaries on the field. This year we are  sending out new missionaries to Europe, Asia, India, Africa, Central and South America from the Orlando office. We are expecting the other MV offices to be sending out hundreds of missionaries in the future. Yet, at the same time we continue to channel 95% of the missionaries’ support to them, and we use only 9% of our total revenue for administration and fundraising.

What would you do during these difficult times? We have prayed, prayed, fasted, and prayed some more. We believe God has called us to raise up an army of valiant partners, committed to supporting this ministry monthly in finances and prayer.  In Judges chapter seven, Gideon (a member of the weakest tribe of Judah) had too many volunteers. To make sure God would get all the glory, God led Gideon in an exercise to choose 300 committed volunteers. This strategy would bring victory and ensure their dependence on God, not man.

As a ministry, we have streamlined and made cuts to help ride out this financially stressful time, but we need 300 monthly supporters who will give $25, $50 or $100 a month to support this work. As you can see in the chart (below) we are almost halfway there. Like Gideon, we realize that a few (300) committed people can be the vehicle sending God’s love to a hurting world. We know God can use anyone or anything to provide for His work, yet if He is choosing you, now more than ever your prayers and partnership are needed. Will you prayerfully consider becoming an mv300 partner and friend of Missionary Ventures? If you cannot support us financially at this time, would you still pray with us for this army of valiant partners.

If you join the mv300, you will receive a refrigerator magnet to use as a reminder to pray for Missionary Ventures and a monthly letter of encouragement highlighting how your partnership is making a difference in the lives of others.
