Article submitted by Norb & Julie Kurrle, Field Coordinators in Paraguay It’s been cold here the last few days and today we woke up to about 0 degree celcius.  We’re giving our new wood burning stove a work out; yesterday we kept it burning all day!  While we are thankful for a cozy home, the [...]

Projects

There are many needs around the world. Would you consider becoming involved in impacting the world for Christ by making a donation to one of these projects?

Construct a Church in Guatemala

The church, Cristo Salva, is led by Pastor Noe Martinez in Nebaj, Guatemala. Pastor Martinez has 40 members in his congregation, and they need a place to worship to continue reaching the people of Nebaj. They already have the land, but they are in need of a construction team and funds to build the church.
The church will be built in three stages:

  • Stage 1: Foundation ($10,000)
  • Stage 2: Walls and floor ($10,000)
  • Stage 3: Roof, doors and windows ($5,000)

Total Cost: $25,000

Build a Latrine in Haiti

Community leaders in Tremes, Haiti have a plan to build latrines serving five to seven households each. This is an extremely impoverished community on the mountains near Plein du Nord (northern Haiti). The community currently has no latrines, no electricity, and no medical workers. This is an open door to preach the gospel in their community. Construction teams are welcome. We would like to build 40 latrines at $720 each.

Put a Roof on a New Church in Gracias, Honduras.

Due to the incredible growth of evangelical churches in this area, many churches have outgrown their buildings (often pastors’ homes). The church members supply most of the local materials (stones, gravel, sand, mud for adobe brick, and lumber), but the roofing material has to be purchased. Because of their extreme poverty, this becomes the most difficult part of the construction process. Your construction team and/or gift can help us complete the construction of a new church building. We currently have five churches praying for a roof. The cost is $1,200 per roof.
Audio Bible for Non-illiterate People Groups

Provide the Audio Bible to non-literate people groups who have no access to the Scriptures. These portable, hand-held, solar powered players contain the recorded New Testament of an Indian language. They allow the Scriptures to be heard by people who live in isolated mountainous regions of Southern Mexico. They are ideal for individual or family listening. The players are protected so that the listener cannot alter the audio. Cost $32 each.

Jesus Film Production

The Jesus film, dubbed into an Indian language, is needed in many communities of Mexico. The people don’t understand Spanish, so the message must be communicated in their mother tongue. Help us to provide this vital instrument to people who have never heard the gospel message. After the script is translated into the target language, we recruit 12 different native speakers to record the various voices in the movie. People are amazed when they hear Jesus speaking their language. This is a tremendous evangelistic and teaching tool. Cost $3000 per language.

Portable Projection System to show Jesus Film

This video projector system comes complete with screen, speakers, and all the equipment necessary to project the Jesus film to an audience of 1000 people. The amazing thing is that all of this equipment can be transported in a single backpack. The system is powered by rechargeable batteries and has a solar panel for recharging in remote locations. The backpack unit can easily be transported down river into the jungle or up into the mountains. Cost $3200.

Mini Recording Studio to Record Audio Bible for Non-illiterate People Groups

There are many recording needs around the world. The New Testament is translated and printed, but people are still waiting to hear the Word of God. We would like to set up and equip mini-recording studios in various locations of Mexico and around the world. The equipment is totally portable, and allows a team to do recordings in very remote locations. The team would also have duplication equipment, enabling them to quickly duplicate and distribute the materials to the people. Cost $5000.
