How to Donate Stock and Mutual Funds
The benefits of donating appreciated stock and mutual funds are very appealing. By doing so, you are able to avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation, and are also able to claim a charitable deduction for the full market value of the security on the date of the gift.
If you desire to make a gift of appreciated securities to Missionary Ventures, here are some helpful instructions:
Please telephone, e-mail, fax or mail Missionary Ventures the following information so we can help you to make an easy electronic transfer of your shares.
- Your name and address
- Daytime phone number
- Name of stock
- Number of shares
- Date of transfer of your gift
- Designation of your gift
You can e-mail the information, fax it to 407-856-7934 or phone 866-925-2636. The information can be mailed to Planned Giving Department, Missionary Ventures, P.O. Box 593550, Orlando, FL 32859-3550.
For tax purposes, the date of your donation of electronically transferred shares is the date that the shares are actually received in Missionary Ventures’ account.
Certificate Transfer
If you desire to give stock held in certificate form, please contact Missionary Ventures’ Planned Giving Department at 866-925-2636 for specific instructions.
Mutual Fund Shares
