Dengue and Yellow Fever have been a very serious problem in Paraguay for the past few years, causing illness and even death. During the humid spring and fall season, mosquito nets are an important preventive measure against the rampant infected mosquitos.
Paraguayan authorities declared a national health emergency during the Dengue epidemic in 2007 when 13,000 people were infected. Through Missionary Ventures Christmas projects this year we were able to buy 45 mosquito nets to distribute to poor children in Paraguay. Of all the nets we distributed, surprisingly only one had owned a net previously.
On behalf of Jorge, Luz, Yanina, Javier, Laura and all the other little ones who now own a net, thank you. You have helped save these children from potential illness. We hope that this year you will help us protect even more families! Click here to purchase mosquito nets.
