I’d like to tell you one story that started five years ago when we’d gone to Matagalpa, Nicaragua, to purchase the property for a school. The price was to be $60,000. At the closing, the lawyer asked for $30,000 more. We had to [...]

Opportunity for YOU to Help Kids Go Back to School

Dear Friend of the Children,

It’s that time of the year when children are gearing up to go back to school and buying the supplies they’ll need. Most will have good teachers who encourage them with a love for learning and excitement about their future. However, a very different scene is described by our missionaries in the countries where we help 78 Christian schools. The only alternative for those parents is overcrowded, underfunded public schools where education standards are low and teachers lack training and resources.

But we have good news! Missionary Ventures has been given an exciting gift-challenge for us to match or even exceed – a donation from a partner for $344,000. This will go towards the building of an additional Christian school, the much needed expansion of others, the purchase of desperately needed desks, lab equipment and computers, and the care of more than 20,000 children in the current Christian schools where we partner. So you see, the possibilities of this incredible gift-challenge will allow us to give families hope that their child can go to a Christian school.

Your gift will help us meet the needs of children like Kimberly and Allison . . .

Kimberly is in the sixth grade in Nicaragua where only one in every four students will graduate. Her mom sells cookies on the street to make the $5.00 a month to keep Kimberly in a school where God is honored. The school is Path of Light, and it represents many other Christian schools in the developing world that are light and hope. There Kimberly has a teacher who cares and challenges her to learn and stay excited about her future as she prays and hopes to become a doctor.

I’ll never forget the first time I met Allison with her contagious smile and the love of Christ shining through her. Allison was born blind. Sadly, in Nicaragua, the handicapped are ignored. However, Path of Light opened their doors to Allison nine years ago. They found an old Braille machine, and she’s been diligently studying. Allison excels in math and hopes to work on computers once she graduates and goes to a university.

Today you can choose to be a part of changing the future for so many children like Kimberly and Allison. Your gift will provide an education and hope in Jesus Christ.

As back-to-school preparations get into full swing, please help to meet the needs of those who have no hope by being part of this exciting gift-challenge. It expands your dollars and many times over multiplies the future for a precious child. Thank you!

Because of Christ,

Glen P. Dubois
President, Missionary Ventures International
