Types of Team Trips

What types of Short-term Mission Teams are there?

Great question! Short-term mission trips can take many forms, but all are designed to share and show the love of Christ in tangible ways. Through our involvement, our desire is not only to see lives changed by the gospel, but also to support, encourage and increase the impact our teams have on the partnerships our missionaries have formed with local pastors and leaders.

Short – Term Mission trips can be one or a combination of the following:

Outreach Team – Would have a primary focus of sharing the Gospel with those who are lost and offering encouragement and discipleship to fellow believers. This would include holding crusades, going door-to-door, speaking at churches and schools, helping at a feeding center, holding a Pastor’s Conference, showing the Jesus Film etc.

Medical Team – Would have a primary focus of diagnosing and administering medicine to the sick. Teams would set up in an already established clinic or a make-shift clinic. Not everyone on these teams has to have a medical background. There will be a need for team members who can interact with the families – praying for them, sharing the Gospel, playing games with the children or just holding babies.

Construction Team – Would have a primary focus on building churches, clinics, schools, shelters, homes and installation of wells or water purification systems. Not everyone on these teams has to be a skilled construction worker. There will be a need for team members who can help with painting, mixing cement and smaller construction projects.

Adventure Team – Would have a primary focus of sharing the Gospel with inviduals in remote areas of the world. Members of an adventure team need to be in decent physical condition because they involve extensive walking or hiking and are more rugged than the majority of our teams. Most adventure teams involve going into remote areas, sleeping in tents, no running water or electricity.

Youth & Family Team – Would have a primary focus of sharing the Gospel with children and youth and offering encouragement and discipleship to fellow believers. Many youth and family teams also participate in projects such as painting, drama, puppet skits and Vacation Bible School.

Gift Bag Team – Would have a primary focus of taking a small freezer bags full of toiletries and toys to needy children in desperate situations around the world. Members of your church, family and friends can donate items and/or help pack gift bags for the trip. Gift bag teams normally take place in November and December of each year.
