Why Missions ?

Missions is joining God in reconciling the World to Him. God’s number one priority is to seek and save the lost among the Nations.
Have you experienced missions lately? I looked up the word experience in the dictionary. It means to attempt a trial or a series of trials that can bring suffering and joy.
Isn’t this really what missions is all about. We hear from God and want to step out in faith to obey Him. Yet, many times obeying God will bring suffering and joy.
It’s interesting that God did not send a sermon to show His love. He sent His only begotten son to enter our world where you and I live, walk, and breath. Jesus was tortured, betrayed. He turned the wrath of God away from you and me.
I pray today you are reminded life is not primarily about “…things that can be seen, but things that cannot be seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Cor. 4:18).
When we choose to sacrifice and suffer for the Kingdom of God and take part in His agenda it is not loss but great gain. Only God can fill our hearts with true joy. Loving the world will have a radical effect on our lives. For some it’s more prayers and intercession for the world, others joining a short-term team, others giving sacrificially or possibly forsaking all and moving to the field. Make no mistake about it when God’s people work together, pray together and are in unity towards a common goal (proclaiming the Gospel) God’s joy will be among us.
May the Lord increase your joy and faith as you obey Him.
