Tom and Ruthie Watkins

Missionaries in Nicaragua

Tom and Ruthie Watkins each came to know the Lord Jesus at a very young age. Ruthie spent her childhood living in Nicaragua and Mexico where her father taught New Testament Theology. This exposure to poverty and the active role of missions while working alongside Jim and Viola Palmer left Ruthie with a strong desire to study nursing and to return to help others improve their health, physically and spiritually. Tom developed a deep faith in Christ during his high school years and graduated from Rogers State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. Ruthie graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a BS in Nursing. They plan to serve at the Nicaragua Christian Academy.

They have two children: a daughter, Kenzi, who is three years old, and a son, Kalvin, who is now one.
